Four days of rest in Belfast, Northern Ireland gave me ample opportunity to sketch. One of my favorite sketches is this view of the dome of the Belfast City Hall.

Donegal Castle, Donegal Town, Co Donegal, Ireland - 2013
Donegal Town, Co Donegal, Ireland was the starting point of a nine day hike of the International Appalachian Trail in Ireland in 2013. The town is dominated by Donegal Castle, which was built in the 15th Century by Red Hugh O'Donnell, one of Ireland's most honored heroes for his exploits against the English oppressors.
Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet - 2008
Four days in the Tibetan capital city of Lhasa afforded me several opportunities to sketch the impressive, beautiful and unforgettable Potala Palace, winter home of the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. This is one of my sketches.

While relaxing and recovering from jet lag in the garden of the Shangri-La Hotel in Katmandu, Nepal, I sketched this elephant flower pot holder.
Boudhanath Stupa, Katmandu, Nepal - 2008
My wife and I stopped in Katmandu, Nepal in October 2008 on our way to the north base camp of Mt. Everest. Our guide took us to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Katmandu.
